一、give up doing sth. 停止做某事

【考點(diǎn)說(shuō)明】 句中doing something為動(dòng)名詞短語(yǔ)作賓語(yǔ)。如：

You should give up smoking because it is harmful to your health.

你應(yīng)該戒煙，它對(duì)你的身體有害。

Has she given up drinking?

她戒酒了嗎？

【知識(shí)串聯(lián)】 同義短語(yǔ)stop doing sth.， 如：

The teacher asked the students to stop talking.

老師讓學(xué)生停止講話(huà)。

二、so ... that ... 如此......以致......

【考點(diǎn)說(shuō)明】that引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語(yǔ)從句，so后面應(yīng)接形容詞或副詞原級(jí)。如：

She is so clever that I admire her very much.

她如此聰明，讓我很羨慕。

He ran so fast that I couldn't catch up with him.

他跑得如此之快以致于我趕不上他。

【知識(shí)串聯(lián)】 such ... that ... 如此......以致......，that也引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語(yǔ)從句，such用來(lái)修飾名詞。如：

It is such a beautiful flower that I like it very much.

這是一朵如此美麗的花以致于我很喜歡它。

It was such fine weather that we decided to go skating.

天氣真好，我們決定去溜冰。

三、too ... to ... 太......而不能......

【考點(diǎn)說(shuō)明】該句型引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語(yǔ)，too與to中間應(yīng)接形容詞、副詞原級(jí)，含有否定意味。如：

At the sight of the dog, she was too frightened to move.

一看見(jiàn)這條狗，她嚇得不敢動(dòng)了。

【知識(shí)串聯(lián)】該句型可轉(zhuǎn)換成be not ... enough to ... 或so ... that ... 句型的否定式。如：

He is too young to go to school. = He is so young that he can't go to school.= He isn't old enough to go to school.

他太小了，不能去上學(xué)。

四、think a lot / much of 對(duì)......評(píng)價(jià)高，看重

【考點(diǎn)說(shuō)明】 該句型為對(duì)某人/物的良好評(píng)價(jià)用語(yǔ)，of后面接名詞、代詞、動(dòng)名詞等。如：

He thinks a lot / much of her progress in English study.

他對(duì)她在英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)上所取得的進(jìn)步評(píng)價(jià)很高。

She thinks a lot / much of his invention.

她很看重他的發(fā)明。

【知識(shí)串聯(lián)】 think of考慮，想起。如：

She thinks more of her students than of herself.

她關(guān)心學(xué)生勝過(guò)關(guān)心自己。

I can't think of his name at the moment.

我一時(shí)想不起他的名字。
